A strategic and commercially focused legal leader, advising boards and executive teams within complex, multi-jurisdictional environments across Sub-Saharan Africa with an extensive experience spanning from Corporate Governance & Board Advisory, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Mining & Resource Development Law, Commercial Contracting & Negotiation, Legal Risk & Regulatory Compliance, Industrial Relations (IR) & HR Legal Advisory, Cross-Border Transactions (Sub-Saharan Africa), Litigation & Dispute Resolution.
Chris is an admitted Attorney of High Court of South Africa, holding a BA Law, LLB from then RAU now University of Johannesburg and CPIR from Wits University. His experience in Mining was demonstrated and tested by leading the legal function across an international mining group with operations in Sub-Saharan Africa, Principal legal advisor to Board and Executive Committee on governance, compliance making Key Impact which enabled major strategic transactions across multiple jurisdictions, Strengthened governance and compliance frameworks across the MC Mining group and Delivered commercially sound legal strategies supporting long-term growth.
At a personal level, Chris is a dedicated family man with a strong appreciation for nature, reflected in frequent visits to the Kruger National Park. He maintains an active interest in sport as an avid Springbok supporter and enjoys the occasional round of golf.
