Kgaotsang have over 16 years of experience in Social Performance, Community Engagement, Stakeholder Relation, Transformation, Communication and Government Relations within Mining, Energy and Public sector, Currently serving as Executive Head Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at MC Mining responsible for managing and leading the company’s communications, social performance, environmental and regulatory affairs. . His extensive experience span from other management capacities within mining sector at Exxaro resources and Anglo American/De Beers Group, and contributed in the coordination of cross-functional implementation of the Social Way management system and aligning internal and outside the organization where necessary to ensure that social perspectives are integrated into all organizational activities. Kgaotsang possess deep technique in driving stakeholder engagement, ESG compliance, and community-focused initiatives, including regulatory understanding of the Mining Charter requirements, SLP and BBBEE transformation. Before joining the mining industry, Kgaotsang was the Lephalale Development Forum Coordinator working under the mandate of the Office of the Premier in Limpopo to oversee the coordination of a multi-stakeholder forum of investors having business interest around Lephalale during the construction of Medupi Power Station. In this 16 years of experience, 13 years was at the strategic level leading a high- performance culture amongst teams.
Kgaotsang hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, BA and Honours degree in Social/Developmental Sciences from MANCOSA, University of Venda and University of Limpopo respectively and currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration with Catholic University of Murcia, Spain. As part of further professional development, Kgaotsang attended a Program in Project Management and Certificate in Stakeholder Management (Both with the University of Pretoria), whiles at Anglo American, Kgaotsang was identified as a Gamechanger and trained with a program in sustainability leadership developed jointly by Universities of Cambridge (UK) and Queensland (Australia).
At a personal level, Kgaotsang is a kind and humble being with great interpersonal skills, family oriented and a good team player able to maintain long term sustainable relationships, strategic thinker and an influencer, a leader able to take initiatives and priorities completion, good networking, and lobbying skills through his favorite hobby (Playing Golf).
